Akira Ishikawa is a hippie teen who tries to stick in with the other hipsters at his high school and hasn't got along with his family, but unknown to everyone, he has a strong and kind soul. When he was transported to Okoto, Akira becomes Tahu and he was seen as hot tempered and brave to the other Toa. Akira likes to excel and thinks of himself as heroic of the heroes, but his forgetful nature has gotten him into trouble at times, but Akira believes that the spirit of Tahu was born under a very lucky star, and somehow always come out on top.
As Tahu, Akira can possess a elemental control of fire and has a natural resistance to heat. His signature moves are the Lava Dash and the Flame Spin. When he was the Master of Fire, he originally wore a Mask of Fire when he arrived at Okoto but later replaced with the Golden Mask of Fire, which grants him greater power over flame. Tahu was later given the Unity Mask of Fire by Ekimu, which allowed him to track down Ikir, before he replaced the mask with the Golden Mask of Unity, which allows him to unite with Ikir to access greater power.
He originally wielded the dual Fire Blades that can be combined into a lavaboard, and twin Golden Swords as his sidearms. Those were replaced by the Elemental Fire Blades when Tahu granted Unity Armor from Ekimu.
Akira Ishikawa is portrayed by Hikaru Fujioka, a charismatic rising star of the EKpop music genre who appeared in several television shows and movies.
