Susumu Moto is very active and he likes to exercise in the gym and meditating outside under the stars. When he was transported to Okoto, Susumu becomes Onua. He is seen by the other Toa as grounded and wise. However, Susumu can be receptive and silent.....and snoring! Although he rarely holds a conversation, the other Toa have come to respect Susumu, they know that when he speaks, his crude voice caries guidence and wisdom.

As Onua, Susumu is able to control the element of earth and additionally, he has night vision powers, which enables him to see the dark better than the rest of the Toa. His signature moves are the Thunder Clap and the Earth Quake. When Susumu was the Master of Earth, he originally wore a Mask of Earth and later the Golden Mask of Earth, which granted him enhanced powers over earth. He was later given a Unity Mask of Unity when he was equipped with the Unity Armor by Ekimu, which itself was later replaced with the Golden Mask of Unity, which enables him to unite with Terak.

He initally carried the Earthquake Hammer as his primary weapon, which could split into two Turbo Shovelers. Those were later replaced by the Blazing Crystal Hammer, a blaster-drill-hammer hybrid hammer.

Susumu Moto is portrayed by Takeshi Fujita, a cherished Olympic weightlifter who won medals at Montreal in 1976, Moscow in 1980 and Los Angeles in 1984 and appeared in numerous television shows including "Irritating Stick".
